Mashhad, hosted more than 50 nations in health tourism

Mashhad hosted health tourists from 56 countries Last year. Health tourists mostly came from Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Bahrain and Pakistan, respectively. Tourists have been hospitalized only in authorized clinics for foreign country patients. So far, 12 hospitals and two limited surgical clinics in Mashhad have been authorized to care non Iranian patients in health tourism system. A number of health tourism centers are currently under assessments to receive relevant authorization. 
The rate of health tourism growth was 90% in Mashhad this year.
19,900 patients received diagnostic and treatment services in Mashhad hospitals and clinics. The growth has been remarkable compared to last year.
Women's diseases, heart disease, various surgeries, including eyes, nose, and general surgeries were among the most common causes of referral of health tourists.
