Iranian winner of (WHO) Prize Dr. Alireza Esteghamati
Maintaining and promoting the health of patients not only in Iran but also in the world is the main concern of Iranian physicians who are working beyond the borders they try to save lives of millions of people all over the world regardless of race, religion and nationality. There is no doubt that Iranian physicians have always played a prominent role in medical sciences. Today, again, Iran presents medical scientists to the international community as the winner of the top scientist award in the field of cancer, cardiovascular and diabetes studies of WHO eastern Mediterranean region. Dr. Alireza Esteghamati is the winner Kuwait Prize for his outstanding researches in the field.
The State of Kuwait Prize for the Control of Cancer, Cardiovascular Diseases and Diabetes in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (WHO) is awarded to Dr. Alireza Esteghamati. This prize is administered by the World Health Organization, to acknowledge the work of well-known scientists, researchers or dedicated people who have made an outstanding contribution in prevention, control or research in one or more of the following disease groups: cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. This award is offered to the specialists, scientists and dedicated people who have been conducting valuable research on controlling cancer, diabetes and heart and cardiovascular disease since 2013.
Dr. Alireza Esteghamati is full professor of endocrinology.
He holds various national and international positions and memberships. He is a member of the International Federation of Diabetes (IFD), he is also a member of the editorial board of 2017 and 2019-Atlas Diabetes. Besides, he holds different positions in Iran Ministry of health as well as Medical University with critical levels of responsibility.
Dr. Esteghamati is recognized for outstanding studies about 3 decades in diabetes researches nationally and internationally.
Besides other responsibilities, he is also currently chairing as the head of the scientific board of Exon Health Paradise Company.
“I never consider myself a prize-winner, and what I do is do a job of educating patients, educating doctors, and researching diseases," he says.
