Iran' official challenging china's statistics on coronavirus

Can China's evidence and statistics on coronavirus be used in other countries to contain the coronavirus
Kianoosh Jahanpour, a spokesman for the Iran's Ministry of Health, has called China’s statistics and evidence on coronavirus, a painful joke. He also said that all the involved countries thought that the disease was similar to flu and even easier to treat based on China's documents. However, it is not the case and it can’t be said that the disease can be contained in two months.
On another hand, the WHO Representative to China, Dr. Gauden Galea, has said China’s policy in implementing different measures in different cities has been effective for preventing the spread of the disease. Other countries should consider that one size does not fit all and the situation is different between and even within countries and the solutions should be tailored according to the local context. The countries can learn from each other to develop the most comprehensive measures to fight the disease.
What can be understood from the statistics on coronavirus
Comparing China's statistics with Iran and other countries show that there is a significant difference between the death toll. In the case of Iran and china this is what the statistics say:
CORONAVIRUS IN IRAN
Number of confirmed cases: 58,226
Death toll: 3,603
CORONAVIRUS IN CHINA
Number of confirmed cases: 81,669
Death toll: 3,329
According to statistics, more than 1.1 million people worldwide are infected with the virus by April 6th. Nearly 60,000 of them have died. According to the same statistics, more than 235,000 people have recovered from the disease. About 5 percent of patients have died so far, and more than 20 percent have recovered.
An examination of the proportion of patients who died in a population of one million in each country also shows that Spain tops the list with 251 deaths. Italy ranks next with 243, France 100, Britain 64, Iran 41, the United States 22 and Germany 15. This figure is much lower in East Asian countries where the disease originated. China had two deaths per million people, compared to three in South Korea. That is a significant difference that should be considered.
The global average for the number of deaths per million population in each country is 7.8.
Which country has done a good job to decrease the consequences of coronavirus outbreak
One of the most important indicators in determining the success of each country in preventing the spread of the disease is the percentage of its citizens with COVID-19 disease compared to its population. According to the index, the number of patients per million citizens in Spain is worse than in other countries. Out of every 1 million Spaniards, 2,668 have contracted COVID-19. This figure is 1982 for Italy, 839 for the United States, 1,099 for Germany, 1259 for France, 664 for Iran and 617 for the United Kingdom. Of the 1 million Chinese, 57 were infected with coronavirus. That number was 198 in South Korea.
According to Kianoosh Jahanpour, the number of deaths and hospitalization has decreased in Iran due to social distancing. However, this figure is expected to rise with people coming back to their home and going back to work.
In addition, in the field of prevention and the number of tests, the Islamic Republic of Iran was able to become self-sufficient by producing test kits and the increase of diagnostic tests on suspicious people eventually will increase the number of patients.
The ratio of the recovered to the infected can also indicate the effectiveness of the treatment structure of each country. About 12,000 of the 277,000 infected people in the United States have now recovered. The number of COVID-19 patients in Spain is 124,000, of which 34,000 have recovered. Of the 120,000 Italians, about 20,000 survived the disease. In Germany, 92,000 people were diagnosed with COVID-19, and a total of 24,000 were recovered. In France, 82,000 people have fallen ill and 14,000 have been cured of the disease. In Iran, 55,000 people became infected with the virus, and a total of nearly 20,000 were recovered. In China, 81,000 people have fallen ill, most of them recovered, and only about 6,000 are still ill. South Korea also has a very good position in this index, and out of about 10,000 people with corona, more than 6,300 have recovered.
The above statistics show that although the number of patients in Iran has increased in the last two weeks, but due to the efforts of the country's health system, the growth rate of the number of recovering has also increased. Iran is in a better position than many developed countries in terms of the number of patients and recoveries.
